Martinsville extended their losing streak  to six  on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 7-13 in the process. They came up short against  the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats, falling  14-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  4-1  last Saturday.
  Olivia Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base. That  triple marked the first that  she has  hit this season.  Harper Baird was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  double.
As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, their victory  ended  an  eight-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 4-12. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
On Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's side,  Addison Wasson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  struck out six batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits (and not a single walk). Wasson was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 In other batting news,  Macee Rodman was  incredible,  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances with three  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  three  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Birgen Schlanser, who  went 1-for-4 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
 Martinsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, they will face off against Neoga at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
