The Almira-Coulee-Hartline Warriors were the 50-40 winner over the Wilbur-Creston-Keller Wildcats when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Almira-Coulee-Hartline fell 53-45 to Wilbur-Creston-Keller on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Almira-Coulee-Hartline can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Wilbur-Creston-Keller is ranked 27th).
Almira-Coulee-Hartline's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Naomi Molitor, who scored 14 points. The contest was Molitor's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Peyton Roberts, who scored ten points.
Almira-Coulee-Hartline now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Wilbur-Creston-Keller, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Almira-Coulee-Hartline will take on Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Valley Christian is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Wilbur-Creston-Keller, they will head out on the road to face off against Wellpinit at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
