The Lakes Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Wilmot Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakes will be strutting in after a victory while Wilmot will be coming in after a defeat.
Lakes barely beat Round Lake the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Panthers on Thursday. Considering the Eagles' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Eryn Oleson made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Lakes got a massive performance out of Liv Tautges, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Tautges has posted since back in April. Camy Lowery was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.
Lakes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Wilmot was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They lost 26-1 to Union Grove.
Kinlee Abell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.
Wilmot's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Lakes, they moved to 9-9 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
Lakes was able to grind out a solid victory over Wilmot in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
