The Navarro Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 59-30 defeat at the hands of Great Hearts Northern Oaks. Navarro lost against Great Hearts Northern Oaks in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 50-43 score last time.
Great Hearts Northern Oaks can attribute much of their success to Nico Franzese, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Franzese also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cardon Paulos, who scored 12 points.
Navarro bumped their record down to 2-11 with that loss, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Great Hearts Northern Oaks, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Navarro and Wimberley will face off at 4:30 p.m. on December 29, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Wimberley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matches. Great Hearts Northern Oaks won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tournament Opponent at 9:30 a.m. on December 30, 2023.
