The Thunder Ridge Longhorns's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 65-38 loss at the hands of Pike Valley. Thunder Ridge was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pike Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Andrew Cooper was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with eight steals and six rebounds for Pike Valley. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cooper has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Massell, who scored 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Thunder Ridge dropped their record down to 3-12 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Pike Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thunder Ridge will square off against Hill City at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hill City has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 190 points over their last three games. As for Pike Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against St. John's/Tipton Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. John's/Tipton Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
