The Jay County Patriots stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. Everything went their way against Delta as Jay County made off with a 60-36 win. Winning may never get old, but Jay County sure is getting used to it with their 16th in a row.
Jay County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isabella Denton, who scored 16 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Denton has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Muhlenkamp, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Despite the loss, Delta saw an underclassman step up: Jillian Barr scored 14 points along with nine blocks and six rebounds. Barr has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last eight times she's played. Paizley Cool was another key contributor, scoring three points along with eight rebounds and six blocks.
Jay County pushed their record up to 18-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Delta, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Jay County will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Southern Wells at 7:30 p.m. Southern Wells will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while Jay County is ranked 36th). As for Delta, they will head out on the road to challenge Shelbyville at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Ava Wilson and Barr.
