Bluefield (W. Va.) took an early lead against
Ravenswood (W. Va.) and held on for a 31-14 victory on Saturday.
The Beavers put up 21 points in the opening frame. Bluefield scored on a
Dj Stewart touchdown run, a touchdown pass by
Rj Bourne and a touchdown run by Stewart.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Stewart in the first quarter, BHS was up 27-15 at the half.
The Beavers came into the game allowing 17.3 points per game.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Bluefield, which was coming off a 29-27 defeat at the hands of Wayne in its previous game. The defeat comes as a step back for Ravenswood, who notched a 43-13 victory over Ripley in its previous outing.
