The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Palmview nor Mission made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Lobos took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

On the hitting side, Yailyn Trevino made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Rosales, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial entered their tilt with Miller on Thursday with 23 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 24. They never let the Buccaneers get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 19 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Lyla Creek tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Jada Zepeda was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Emilee Holmes, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .528. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.1 runs over those games. As for Palmview, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.
Both Palmview and Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial just can't seem to miss. The Lobos have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
