Lincoln Southwest has won 12 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Lincoln Southeast has won 12 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks and the Lincoln Southeast Knights will meet in a classic East v. West matchup at 7:15 p.m. One thing working in Lincoln Southwest's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
Last Tuesday, Lincoln Southwest didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Lincoln High, but they still walked away with a 71-66 victory.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln Southwest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Uzziah Sanders, who went 10 for 14 on his way to 25 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Sanders a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makkiah Sanders, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 14 points and four steals.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Southeast fought the good fight in their overtime match against Lincoln Northeast on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 83-76 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets. One positive for the Knights, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Mike Ngoyi and Lazerek Houston. Houston had a great game and went 12 of 19 on his way to 34 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists. Meanwhile, Ngoyi was balling out in the loss, going 12 of 23 on his way to 29 points.
Lincoln Southwest is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Lincoln Southeast, they moved to 7-2 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lincoln Southwest has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 24.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lincoln Southeast struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Lincoln Southwest couldn't quite finish off Lincoln Southeast when the teams last played back in January of 2024 and fell 53-50. Will Lincoln Southwest have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
