Softball Recap: Heide Trask Wins Going Away Against South Columbus

Heide Trask had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt South Columbus on Thursday. The Titans blew past the Stallions 10-0. Considering the Titans have won eight matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Dava Bullard was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Naima Shepard was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Trinitee Odom was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Heide Trask hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in nine consecutive contests.

Heide Trask's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-4. As for South Columbus, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heide Trask will head out to take on East Columbus at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Gators will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Columbus, they will head out on the road to challenge Green Sea Floyds at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Stallions' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
