Section 11 Division III recap Oct. 30, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Rocky Point, who took down 312th ranked Amityville Memorial, 33-32.
Sayville extended the longest winning streak in Section 11 Division III this week by beating Deer Park, 35-7. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Golden Flashes.
Bellport's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nick Fountis threw for five yards and Marcos Urena had five yards receiving. On the ground Nate Chavious chipped in 157 yards.
Comsewogue's Ryan Keefe and Andrew Steck have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Keefe has thrown for 439 yards this season, while Steck, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 11 catches for 136 yards. Chavious from the Clippers leads the league in rushing with 1544 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Huntington takes on Kings Park. The Blue Devils are currently in third, while the Kingsmen are in fifth.
The Warriors were the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from ninth to sixth in Section 11 Division III. Earlier in the week, Comsewogue defeated Hauppauge 21-7.
