Italy won the last time they faced Itasca and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Gladiators blew past the Wampus Cats 26-18. Considering the Gladiators have won 12 matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Landry Janek was a standout: she scored four runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-5. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Ramirez, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.

Italy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in 11 consecutive contests.

Italy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.6 runs over those games. As for Itasca, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Coming up, Italy will be playing at home against Rio Vista at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Gladiators surely won't give up without a fight. As for Itasca, they will take on Frost at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wampus Cats are facing the Polar Bears at the right time seeing as the Polar Bears are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
