Softball Recap: Elk Grove Finds Home Field Redemption Against Lodi

There's no place like home for Elk Grove, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Lodi Flames on Friday. The Thundering Herd haven't had any issues with the Flames recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Elk Grove got a great performance from Ella Lincoln as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Lincoln has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Elk Grove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izianah Castillo, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Ryann Wolfe was another, scoring a run and stealing Two bases.

Elk Grove's record is now 4-5. As for Lodi, they moved to 7-3 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Coming up, Elk Grove is taking a road trip to challenge Vanden at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lodi will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on St. Mary's at 4:00 p.m. on March 18th.
