Louis Lang was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Lang was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caleb Remington, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Cameron Allen was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Warrensburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Granville hit Corinth with a six-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Riverhawks fell 11-6 to the Golden Horde. The Riverhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sam Tangora made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keegan Baker, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Corinth's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Warrensburg, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
Corinth's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Warrensburg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. It's a different story for Corinth, though, as they've only averaged .238. Will they be able to contain Warrensburg's hitters?
Everything went Warrensburg's way against Corinth in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Warrensburg made off with a 9-1 win. Do the Burgers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Riverhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
