The Winter Park Wildcats entered their tilt with the Windermere Wolverines with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Winter Park strolled past Windermere with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 41-22. Given Winter Park's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Windermere is ranked 376th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Winter Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Seay, who scored 13 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Seay has scored all season. Maliyah Lockhart was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Windermere lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryen Wood, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliette Foradi, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Winter Park's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. As for Windermere, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Winter Park will head out on the road to square off against Lake Howell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Winter Park focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
