The Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks will head out on the road to face off against the La Salle Institute Cadets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Saratoga Springs brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They came out on top against Colonie Central by a score of 42-35 on Friday.
David Newell had a dynamite game for Saratoga Springs, rushing for 183 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while also picking up 60 receiving yards. Jack Rigabar also helped out by tossing the rock for 261 yards.
La Salle Institute fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They breezed by Albany on the road to the tune of 48-14. Given La Salle Institute's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Albany is ranked 383rd), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Saratoga Springs' win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for La Salle Institute, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Saratoga Springs against La Salle Institute when the teams last played back in October of 2017 as the squad secured a 40-7 victory. Will Saratoga Springs repeat their success, or does La Salle Institute have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
