The Sequoia Pathway Academy Pumas had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were dealt a 85-11 defeat at the hands of Madison Highland Prep on Monday. Sequoia Pathway Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-5.
Leading Madison Highland Prep to victory were Stella Blossom and Tom Barbosa. Blossom dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Barbosa dropped a double-double on 33 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Leonard, who scored 18 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
Sequoia Pathway Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Madison Highland Prep, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sequoia Pathway Academy will challenge Anthem Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison Highland Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Kingman Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
