The Ouachita Christian Eagles will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Grant Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Grant took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Ouachita Christian, who comes in off a win.
Ouachita Christian put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Cedar Creek 35-0 on the road. Given Ouachita Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Cedar Creek is ranked 242nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ouachita Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makin Lenard, who rushed for 64 yards and three touchdowns. Tate Hamby was another key contributor, picking up 91 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Grant's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Peabody on the road and fell 45-16. Grant was down 33-8 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Ouachita Christian's win was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points per game. As for Grant, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
