Shaq Davidson and Greg Ellis provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Dorman. The connection went for 80 yards, the longest such play in AAAA Region II this season.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Spartanburg beat Riverside 48-0. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Vikings.
Shaedon Meadors had a great week catching the football as Byrnes bested Boiling Springs. He caught 9 passes for 248 yards.
Shuler Bentley threw for 383 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was 24-34 with 0 interception.
Meadors was the best wideout in the league this week as the Rebels bested the Bulldogs. Meadors tallied 9 receptions for 248 yards. Greg McHam helped Byrnes' passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 55 yards.
Byrnes' Bentley and Meadors have formed a dream team this season, leading AAAA Region II in both passing and receiving yards. Bentley has thrown for 1,870 yards this season, while Meadors, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 27 catches for 626 yards. Gaffney's Hyleck Foster leads the league in rushing yards with 638.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Bobby Bentley's team and Spartanburg. The Rebels comes into the matchup ranked second in the state, while Christopher Miller's team ranks fifth.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when Byrnes' Meadors goes up against the Vikings' Mike Murphy.
The Rebels' Bentley is within 130 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Spartanburg.
Next week's game between Byrnes and the Vikings will feature a good passing match up as Bentley will test his arm against Murphy's defensive ability.
Spartanburg took down the Warriors 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
