The Hillsdale FIGHTING KNIGHTS's's game on Friday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 49-37 to Menlo-Atherton. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Despite the loss, Hillsdale still got an impressive performance from Erick Waugh, who threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns. Drew Rollolazo was in the mix too, providing Hillsdale with two touchdowns.
Jordan Masuisui was a one-man wrecking crew for Menlo-Atherton as he rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Teddy Dacey, who threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes.
Hillsdale has yet to win a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 7-4 record. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-1 Menlo School and 5-4 King's Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 64% over those games). As for Menlo-Atherton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.
Hillsdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Menlo-Atherton will be playing at home against Palma at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Palma is ranked 237th, while Menlo-Atherton is ranked 240th).
