Even though The Parkland Mustangs scored an imposing 33 points on Thursday, the Davie War Eagles still came out on top. Davie took their match against Parkland 40-33. Given Davie's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Parkland is ranked 153rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Markel Summers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 299 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Summers is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played. Connor Hood got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Davie's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Parkland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
