NCSSM: Morganton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 74-64 victory over Owen. The win was just what NCSSM: Morganton needed coming off of a 72-48 defeat in their prior game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead NCSSM: Morganton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vedant Chanshetty, who scored 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lawson Taylor, who scored 19 points.
Despite the defeat, Owen had strong showings from Asante Martin, who scored 20 points along with five assists, and Eli Lewkowicz, who scored 19 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Martin is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. NCSSM: Morganton's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Owen, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. NCSSM: Morganton will take on Draughn at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Draughn knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully NCSSM: Morganton likes a good challenge. Owen knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matches -- so hopefully Avery County likes a good challenge.
