If the Middle College Bulldogs were riding high off their 71-28 takedown of the Craigmont Chiefs on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Middle College fell 57-49 to Melrose on Friday. Middle College was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Melrose apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
It was another big night for Devin Sanders Jr, who almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 19 rebounds, and 9 blocks for Melrose. Sanders Jr hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Sadat Muhammad, who scored 12 points.
Middle College's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Melrose, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Middle College will head out on the road to face off against Melrose at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Melrose, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Booker T. Washington at 7:30 p.m.
