High Desert Top Player Performances of the Week
Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!
Carver Came Up Big in Kern Valley's 62-0 Victory
Starting off the list is Kern Valley's Zane Carver, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Carver rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 62 yards and two touchdowns on only five passes. He is becoming a predictor of Kern Valley's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 2-1 (and 0-3 when he doesn't).
Desert's probably not too fond of Carver given he always seems to get the better of them. Carver rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 60 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Scorpions duked it out back in September of 2023.

A Season-Best Performance from Carlos Sualez Leads Bishop Union over Boron
On Friday, Bishop Union got the W thanks in part to Carlos Sualez playing the best football he has all season. Sualez picked up 156 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 60 yards.
Bishop Union has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Sualez will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against California City on Friday.
