The Seventy-First Falcons put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lumberton 63-0 at home. Considering Seventy-First has won eight matchups by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Deandre Nance continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 55 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 75 yards and a touchdown on only six passes. Shon Pone was another key contributor, rushing for 86 yards and a touchdown.
Seventy-First's win was their 13th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.54 points. As for Lumberton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
Seventy-First will head out on the road to face off against Douglas Byrd at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Douglas Byrd comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Lumberton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Purnell Swett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Purnell Swett comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
