Forestburg has been on the road for four straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Bellevue Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Forestburg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
Forestburg scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They blew past Prairie Valley 66-34 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Forestburg has managed all season.
Forestburg found their leader in underclassman Brenna Briles, who dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 14 rebounds, and ten assists. That's the first time this season that Briles posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Lili Cisneros, who scored 20 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Bellevue's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Saint Jo 55-49. Bellevue has struggled against Saint Jo recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Forestburg's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. As for Bellevue, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Forestburg against Bellevue in their previous meeting back in December of 2020 as the team secured a 54-18 win. With Forestburg ahead 32-2 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
