The R-S Central Hilltoppers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 64-35 win over Patton on the road. Winning may never get old, but R-S Central sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Leading R-S Central to victory were Nykeria Petty and A'laila Flack. Petty scored 18 points, while Flack scored 24 points. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Flack has scored at least a third of R-S Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Caban, who scored eight points.
R-S Central's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-13. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Patton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. R-S Central will face off against East Rutherford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. R-S Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 454th, while East Rutherford is ranked 108th). As for Patton, they will head out on the road to face off against Brevard at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
