A feisty cat fight will be fought as Anderson County Bearcats take on East Jessamine Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
If Anderson County beats East Jessamine with 18 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Anderson County beat Washington County on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 18-1. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won three games by 17 runs or more so far this season.
Sophie Toll looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

On the hitting side, Emma Stevens was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Glass, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Anderson County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, East Jessamine can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. Everything went their way against Western Hills as East Jessamine made off with an 8-1 win.
Remi Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alex Smith, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kylee Oliver, who fired off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-4.
East Jessamine's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Anderson County, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Anderson County hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like East Jessamine struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Anderson County skirted past East Jessamine 10-9 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will Anderson County repeat their success, or does East Jessamine has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
