The Davenport Broncos will venture away from home to challenge the Lakeland Dreadnaughts at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Davenport has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Davenport lost 20-5 to Aubrey Rogers on Monday.

Davenport saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Omar Ortiz, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Davenport is 2-1 when Ortiz posts two or more runs, but 1-9 otherwise.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Lakeland made sure to put some runs up on the board against Haines City on Monday. Lakeland never let Haines City get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Dreadnaughts in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won four in a row.
Lakeland also got a great performance from MAX ESTROFF as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. What's more, ESTROFF gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in February.
On the hitting side, CARTER MASLYN was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of CAMERON FUSE, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Lakeland hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Haines City struck out nine times.
Davenport has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. Lakeland now has a winning record of 6-5.
Davenport suffered a grim 15-4 defeat to Lakeland in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. Can Davenport avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
