Illiana Christian is 0-3 against Harrison since April of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Vikings are taking a road trip to face off against the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Illiana Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Illiana Christian's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when Lowell hitters got past them. The Vikings came up short against the Red Devils on Thursday, falling 12-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Adeline Mulder made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those triples marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia VanderWoude, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three runs.
Meanwhile, Harrison got themselves on the board against West Lafayette on Thursday, but West Lafayette never followed suit. They blew past the Red Devils 7-0. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won nine in a row.
West Lafayette's batters probably weren't too happy with Bradi Odom, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Odom has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Becca Knight, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mallory Duell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Harrison's record is now 5-9. As for Illiana Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
Illiana Christian came up short against Harrison in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 8-4. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
