 On Salinas' side,  Abi Jones was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  struck out 17 batters over  7.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off   four  hits. Jones was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-3 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Gigi Rossi was  excellent,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.  Sam Regalado was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-5.
 North Monterey County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for Salinas, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won ten of their last 13 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record  this season.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Monterey County will  challenge King City at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. As for Salinas, they are on the road again  on Monday to play Notre Dame at 5:00  p.m.
