Chaparral is 0-3 against Shoemaker since December of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Chaparral Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Shoemaker Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Chaparral strolled past Killeen with points to spare, taking the game 68-53. Given Chaparral's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 390th, while Killeen is ranked 970th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chaparral's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brad Miles, who scored 12 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Demarko Williams, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Shoemaker entered their tilt with Belton with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Shoemaker managed a 54-50 win over Belton on Friday.
Chaparral now has a winning record of 16-15. As for Shoemaker, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.
Chaparral ended up a good deal behind Shoemaker in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, losing 74-57. Can Chaparral avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
