Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask James River Midlothian). They put the hurt on the L.C. Bird Skyhawks with a sharp 13-3 win on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Rapids have won by exactly ten runs.

Conner Sprouse made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sprouse was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nate Reed, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That hit marked the first that he got this season. Another player making a difference was Jayden Grant, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.

James River Midlothian pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for L.C. Bird, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
