Baseball Recap: Palmer Has No Trouble Against Grace Christian

Palmer never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Grace Christian Grizzlies. The Moose might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Tristan Barrey was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reed Craner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Palmer: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Avery Shults, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Palmer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in seven consecutive games.

Palmer has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Grace Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coming up, Palmer will head out to square off against Homer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Moose's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mariners have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. Grace Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
