The Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes will head out on the road to challenge the L'Anse Purple Hornets at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Lake Linden-Hubbell stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Chassell 69-23 on the road. Given Lake Linden-Hubbell's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Chassell is ranked 532nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, L'Anse didn't have too much trouble with Dollar Bay on the road on Thursday as they won 57-40. The win made it back-to-back wins for L'Anse.
The victory (which was Lake Linden-Hubbell's third in a row) raised their record to 17-1. As for L'Anse, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Lake Linden-Hubbell beat L'Anse 57-45 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Linden-Hubbell since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
