After flying high against Manor New Tech last Tuesday, the Caldwell Hornets came back down to earth. Caldwell was beaten by the Ducks 75-17 on Friday. Caldwell has struggled against the Ducks recently, as their match on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Taylor was led to victory by Madyson Mitchell and Asia Zachary. Mitchell scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Zachary dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Zachary has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ansley Reed, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Caldwell's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-19. As for Taylor, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-7.
Caldwell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Taylor will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Smithville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
