The McIntosh Demons are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Alabama School of Math & Science Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th. McIntosh has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 470 points over their last seven matchups.
McIntosh has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 36 points or more this season. They breezed by Fruitdale on the road to the tune of 60-7. Given McIntosh's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Fruitdale is ranked 406th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McIntosh to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brittney Reed Jr. , who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. The match was Reed Jr. 's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Dristen Sullivan was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Alabama School of Math & Science, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They took a serious blow against Washington County last Thursday, falling 66-18. Alabama School of Math & Science has struggled against Washington County recently, as their match last Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
McIntosh's victory bumped their season record to 6-1 while Fruitdale's defeat dropped theirs to 0-5.
Everything came up roses for McIntosh against Alabama School of Math & Science in their previous meeting back in November as the team secured a 85-19 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for McIntosh since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
