Softball Recap: Granite Falls Takes a Loss

Granite Falls dropped their record down to 4-5 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 19-0 to the Seattle Christian Warriors. The Tigers were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matches prior), but the Warriors' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Seattle Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games.

For Seattle Christian's part, Izzy Blase was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. What's more, Blase posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Seattle Christian got a massive performance out of Sophie Gielski, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was Gielski's first of the season. Mihret Sanders was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs and four RBI.

Coming up, Granite Falls will take on Sultan at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Seattle Christian, they will be playing at home against Chimacum at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
