Baseball Recap: Firth Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Firth won against Challis on Tuesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Everything went the Cougars' way against the Salmon Savages as they made off with a 9-3 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Michael Adams, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Vasquez, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

The victory (which was Firth's sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Salmon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Firth is set to square off against their familiar foe West Jefferson at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Salmon will take on rival Challis at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
