Basketball Recap: Central Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Clovis came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Central, but Na'Jae Stevenson wouldn't allow it. The Central Grizzlies enjoyed a cozy 71-56 victory over the Clovis Cougars on Friday thanks in part to Stevenson, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. Those 27 points gave him a new career-high.

Stanley Makely was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven boards. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Central's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Clovis, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.

Central will challenge Clovis West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clovis West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.2 points per game this season. As for Clovis, they will head out to take on Buchanan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Buchanan has three straight victories, Clovis has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
