The Lanier Bulldogs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 28-6 loss at the hands of Murrah. Lanier was down 28-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Murrah's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Justyce Williams, who threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes. Rodrick Rogers did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 80 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Murrah's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB eight times. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
Lanier's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Murrah, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lanier will square off against Wingfield on Friday. Wingfield is on a three-game streak of home losses, Lanier a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Murrah will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Kosciusko at 7:00 p.m. on October 26th.
