The Sidwell Friends Quakers came tearing into Saturday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 45-37 victory over Mount St. Joseph. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Sidwell Friends has scored all year.
Sidwell Friends was led to victory by Jalen Rougier-roane and Acaden Lewis. Rougier-roane scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, while Lewis dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Lewis hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.
Sidwell Friends has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for Mount St. Joseph, their loss dropped their record down to 17-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sidwell Friends and St. Andrew's Episcopal will face off at 5:45 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Sidwell Friends is on a 13-game streak of home wins, St. Andrew's Episcopal a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Mount St. Joseph will take on McDonogh at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
