The Cole Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Randolph Ro-Hawks at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Cole sitting on ten straight victories and the Ro-Hawks on four.
In what's become a running theme this season, Cole gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 66-32 victory over Nixon-Smiley. Cole pushed the score to 49-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs had little chance of recovering from.
Cole's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kamyra Childs led the charge by scoring 20 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. Childs hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Abigail Levings, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Randolph got the win against the Eagles on Friday by a conclusive 47-26.
Cole is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 28-8 record this season. As for Randolph, their win bumped their record up to 20-14.
Cole was able to grind out a solid victory over the Ro-Hawks when the teams last played back in January, winning 37-25. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cole since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
