Beechcroft moved up to 126 from 162 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Columbus City - North. The Cougars climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Brookhaven 20-0.
Beechcroft extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Bearcats, 20-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Beechcroft's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Maurice Hale has thrown for 1638 yards and 22 touchdowns this season, while Khaleed Franklin has 33 catches for 710 yards. Hale also leads the league in rushing with 889 yards.
A big matchup in Columbus City - North this week will be when Northland takes on the Cougars. As it stands, the Vikings are in fourth, while Beechcroft is in first.
East took down Centennial 55-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
