For Mountain Range, this counts as revenge for the 37-24 defeat Brighton walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Mountain Range found their leader in underclassman Delilah Lucero, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Lucero is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Josieraye Running Wolf, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Brighton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Haleyanna Martin, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martin has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amy Daines, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Mountain Range now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Brighton, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain Range will take on Loveland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brighton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rocky Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rocky Mountain is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
