The Upper Perkiomen Indians will challenge the Boyertown Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Upper Perkiomen is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
On Monday, Upper Perkiomen came up short against Upper Merion Area and fell 9-5.
Eva McCormick made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Deeble, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Boyertown, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Norristown a 15-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Bears have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Ella Lee made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lee was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Boyertown got a massive performance out of Jenna Fox, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Kern, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Boyertown hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 4-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Boyertown pushed their record up to 6-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Upper Perkiomen, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9-1.
