The Oak Grove Warriors will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Starkville Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. One thing working in Oak Grove's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
Oak Grove extended their postseason success on Friday against Brandon. They snuck past the Bulldogs with a 49-45 win. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Aj Maddox had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, and also threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns. Maddox is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. Kylin Champagne was in the mix as well, providing Oak Grove with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Starkville can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 35-15 margin over Madison Central. Starkville's win was all the more impressive since Madison Central was averaging only 16.62 points allowed on the season.
Their wins bumped Oak Grove to 11-1 and Brandon to 10-3.
