The Nazareth Swifts will be playing in front of their home fans against the Floydada Whirlwinds at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nazareth will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 983rd, while Floydada is ranked 219th).
Last Thursday, Nazareth was the victim of a tough 62-39 loss at the hands of Liberty.
Meanwhile, Floydada earned a 59-49 win over Vernon on Thursday.
Floydada relied on the efforts of Sergio Valadez, who scored 13 points, and Braun Hobbs, who scored 20 points along with 7 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Hobbs has scored at least 25% of Floydada's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Trevino, who scored 7 points.
Nazareth's win lifted them to 2-2 while Liberty's defeat dropped them down to 4-7.
Nazareth was able to grind out a solid victory over Floydada in their previous meeting back in December of 2014, winning 41-33. Does Nazareth have another victory up their sleeve, or will Floydada turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
