The Aquinas Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Memorial Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Aquinas is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.7 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Aquinas came up short against East Palestine and fell 8-5.
AyraBella Bacorn made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariana Nelson, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Memorial had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Trojans. That looming 15-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Red Devils yet this season.
Bella Ornelas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Ramani Adams was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Kayla Coriano, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Memorial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .595 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Aquinas has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season. As for Memorial, their record is now 6-14.
Memorial's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Aquinas hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .402. It's a different story for Memorial, though, as they've only averaged .226. Will they be able to contain Aquinas' hitters?
