The Patoka Warriors's nine-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Saturday. They skirted past Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 56-54. This was payback for Patoka, who suffered a 60-47 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Clayton Wojcik, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Wojcik scored a full 38.9% of Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Gage Lorton was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
The victory got Patoka back to even at 1-1. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Patoka will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wayne City at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City is on the road again on December 26th and play against Ramsey at 4:00 p.m. on December 26th.
